20-Lesson Study Plan

Complete the lessons first, then start the exams.

Follow one lesson each day from Monday to Friday. Use Saturday and Sunday for revision. In this way, students can complete all 20 lessons in 1 month. After that, the next month can begin with the exam preparation for KNS, Lezen, and Spreken.

Weekly study instructions

Monday to Friday: study 1 lesson each day.

Saturday: revise the lessons you studied during the week.

Sunday: revise again and repeat difficult words and exercises.

Continue this rhythm until all 20 lessons are completed.

What happens after the 20 lessons?

After the first month, students should have a stronger Dutch foundation. In the second month, they can begin focused preparation for the exam parts:

KNS – Kennis van de Nederlandse Samenleving
Lezen – reading simple Dutch at A1 level
Spreken – speaking simple Dutch at A1 level
Simple plan: 5 lessons per week + 2 revision days = 20 lessons in 4 weeks. Then use the next month for exam training.

Numbers

Learn the numbers from 1 to 20 and the basic number vocabulary used in simple Dutch.

Lesson 02

Colours

Learn the main colours and how to recognize and say them in Dutch.

Lesson 03

Money

Learn simple money vocabulary, coins, prices, and how amounts are used in Dutch.

Lesson 04

Name and Country

Learn how to say your name, nationality, and basic personal information.

Lesson 05

Family

Learn family members and how to talk about parents, children, and relatives.

Lesson 06

Body

Learn the main parts of the body and useful basic vocabulary for describing people.

Lesson 07

Clothing

Learn common clothes and personal items used in everyday Dutch conversations.

Lesson 08

In the House

Learn furniture, rooms, and household vocabulary used in daily life.

Lesson 09

Kitchen

Learn kitchen items, food-related objects, and useful home vocabulary.

Lesson 10

Food and Drinks

Learn basic food and drink vocabulary for shopping, eating, and simple communication.

Lesson 11

Vegetables and Fruit

Learn common vegetables and fruits and how to identify them in Dutch.

Lesson 12

Transport

Learn transportation vocabulary such as bicycle, bus, car, train, and plane.

Lesson 13

Objects

Learn common everyday objects and basic Dutch words used around you.

Lesson 14

Animals

Learn the names of common animals and simple related Dutch vocabulary.

Lesson 15

Months

Learn the months of the year and basic date vocabulary in Dutch.

Lesson 16

The Weather

Learn weather words such as sun, rain, clouds, snow, and wind.

Lesson 17

Time

Learn how to tell the time and understand simple Dutch time expressions.

Lesson 18

Nature

Learn simple nature vocabulary such as flowers, trees, leaves, and landscapes.

Lesson 19

Electricity

Learn practical vocabulary for devices, light, power, and basic household electricity words.

Lesson 20

Buildings

Learn common building vocabulary such as house, school, mosque, church, and city buildings.

After these 20 lessons, begin the exams.

Once students finish the full month of lessons and revision, they can move into the next month and begin focused exam preparation for KNS, Lezen, and Spreken.
